HombreS is a series of works centered on a stylized human figure, always accompanied by its shadow—a constant presence that questions the boundaries between self and reflection, reality and representation.
The title itself—a fusion of hombres (men, in Spanish) and ombre (shadows, in Italian)—evokes this visual and conceptual duality.
The man-with-shadow figure, an evolution of the icon first created in 2005 for the Lieve series, sheds its original leaf shape to become a module, a generative and architectural element.
In HombreS, the figure repeats, multiplies, and abstracts itself: from subject to visual rhythm, from form to pictorial and spatial geometry—carrying with it a reflection on identity, presence, and its inevitable projection.
